14-03-2009 (Saturday)

Today was the second day of the journey to the Three Gorges… We are going to view some mountainous scenery… We got to wake up at 7am… Being wake up by the music played by the announcement system…

Went down to have our breakfast at 8.30am...The foods there were very plain but still we got to get something to fill up our stomach… Get our things prepared and get down of the cruise by 10am…

Taking another boat to view the scenery… We are also being introduced the surrounding by a tour guide in the boat… What is that mountains called? After we take about 1 ½hour ride of the boat, after which we went to change to a small boat which is known as the “Boat Tracker”…

What is a boat tracker? It is actually boat which is being pulled by the villages… It is only found in the Shennong Stream of the Three Gorges in China… At first starting the boat was not very stable, later on everything was fine… We travelled from a small harbor to a stream and from there we slowly understand the culture of the Tujia… Their culture was very interesting for us to know… Their singing was very sweet…

At there we also bought a CD to listen… It is some folk songs that were sang by the Tujia… After the short tour around the stream, we went back to the boat and head back to our cruise… During the journey back, everyone were very tired… Some of us even slept through the whole journey and some were busy taking photo, wonder if their battery can last for long? About 2.30pm, we reach the cruise and we head back to our room to rest till 3 pm…

At 3pm, we were then being served with our lunch and this is the longest time that we have waited for our lunch to be served… By the time we went in to have our lunch, we were very hungry that we just scooped up the rice and eat till we are very full… After we finished our lunch, we went back to our room and rest…

At about 4plus and 5plus, we have a short description by our tour guide about all the interesting name of the mountain… We even can see mountain that were like a shape of eagle flapping its wings… After that we go back to our room and rest till 7pm…

At 7pm, we have our final tour at a place called “Bai Di Cheng” which was situated at the CongQing… We went there to understand short history why the place was built, what have happened at the place when Liu Bei and some historical statue were in there? After the tour, it was already 8plus… We got to head back to the cruise to have back dinner…

We only have our dinner at about 10pm because we got to let other group have their dinner first as we were considered the huge group of people in the boat… After dinner, we went back to our room to rest and start packing our luggage as we were going back to YiChang the next morning…

I feel that the place that we have went to are very unusual… Filled with mysterious, and curiosity… There a very strange feeling when we were at there… Everything was so old but it is new to me… Thinking of the past when we are small, listening to all those history of China like the Romance of the Three Kingdom… Was it a history or was it really happened before… You also feel kind of strange right? Everything was very uncertain… After the tour at the “Bai Di Miao”, I understand a bit of the history that took place in the past… Feel like travelled back to time, to have an experience of it… The next observation was to able to understand more of China’s History… Heard that they have about 5,000 years of history… Keen to know about it…
